“A worldwide network will come together to establish India as the preferred location for semiconductor chips.”

According to N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, the semiconductor manufacturing hubs in India would have a long-term effect on the whole nation on Wednesday.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremonies for his projects in Dholera, Gujarat, and Jagiroad, Assam, Chandrasekaran further predicted that India would become the ideal location for semiconductor manufacture as a result of the global ecosystem coming together.

The Tata Group is celebrating a momentous day today as the foundation stones for two of our projects, located 2,500 kilometers apart in Dholera and Jagiroad, are being set simultaneously. The whole country will be impacted for a long time by these industrial clusters. The global ecosystem will mobilize to make India their first choice for semiconductor destinations. He said, “I would want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for his unwavering ambition to bring the semiconductor sector to our nation.

Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) of Taiwan is working with the Gujarati community to construct a semiconductor production plant in Dholera. The first AI-enabled factory in India is expected to create over 20,000 direct and indirect skilled employment with an investment of up to Rs 91,000 crore, according to the business.

In the semiconductor supply chain, he said, self-sufficiency is a goal for today’s big economies. There are three main causes for this: First, the pandemic’s chip scarcity brought home to us the value of technology and our reliance on the world’s supply chain. Second, national security demands self-sufficiency in chips as cyberwarfare becomes more frequent. Ultimately, the future of the indigenous product ecosystem depends on the presence of a local semiconductor manufacturing environment.
