While the majority of Indian and international players have joined their teams, several cricketers, particularly those from outside, have abruptly withdrawn for various reasons. Let’s examine the injured and unavailable players for the team:
Super Giants of Lucknow

One of the first names to withdraw from the IPL 2024 was Mark Wood, with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) having a part in it. In order to prepare for the T20 World Cup and the domestic summer, the fast bowler, who participated in three of the five Test matches in India, is managing his workload. Shamar Joseph has been named by LSG as his successor.

Gujarat Titans

Mohammed Shami, who had surgery last month for a heel ailment, would be missed by the Gujarat Titans, the runners-up of the previous season and the winners of the IPL in 2022. Shami won’t be playing for at least the next three to four months, having not played since the World Cup. The team has not yet announced a stand-in for him.

Matthew Wade, the wicketkeeper-battler for GT, is probably going to miss the team’s first two games. Wade will represent Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield final, which takes place from March 21 to 25.

Knight Riders of Kolkata

The KKR squad will suffer as a result of the withdrawal of two more England players for various reasons. Jason Roy recently withdrew, citing a hectic schedule for the next year and a desire to spend time with his family. His successor has been identified as Phil Salt.

Before Roy, Gus Atkinson had left the wealthy, once again with ECB controlling his workload. Although Dushmantha Chameera took his spot in the team, the fast bowler from Sri Lanka is presently sidelined due to injury and will not play in the current ODI series against Bangladesh.

Shreyas Iyer, the captain of KKR, is also doubtful at the moment since his back problems flared up again during the Ranji Trophy final. On the last day of the final, he is still not on the field from the fourth day. According to current reports, he is unlikely to start for KKR in the first IPL 2024 games.

Prasidh Krishna, an IPL fast bowler, will be absent from the Rajasthan Royals for the second straight season. Due to his history of injuries over the previous several years, Krishna had quadriceps surgery last month. He will now get rehabilitation at Bengaluru’s NCA. The Royals have not yet announced a player to take his position.

Chennai Premier League

Devon Conway, the opener for the Chennai Super Kings, recently had a thumb injury and had surgery to treat it. It is anticipated that the Kiwi batter will be sidelined for eight weeks, although there has been no formal announcement as of yet. It is unclear whether CSK will declare a replacement when the time comes or if they will wait for him to arrive in the second half of the season.

The Delhi Capitals

The most recent player to withdraw from the competition for personal reasons is Harry Brook. The cricket player disclosed the reason for it all, stating that he and his family are still in mourning over the death of his grandma.

Moreover, speedster Jhye Richardson, who hasn’t played since the Big Bash League (BBL), is still out of commission for the Delhi Capitals.
